When do you finally give up or is it give in?? And what is the difference or are they same?
When the going gets tough, 'life' gets too uncomfortable or unreasonable, and we find it difficult when things are not going our way in the ways that we think or hope that they should, us normal humans can either 'throw in the towel' or become incredibly stubborn and refuse to walk away from something (or someone) that we have set our mind or heart upon! Even if it is contrary to our own well being!
So what 'should' we do?
It is my belief that when 'things' are not going our way in the time frame that we have determined, then it can mean one of two things.
Either it is not the time, or it is not the right thing for us if we have determined how we wish our life to pan out.
If it is our desire to live happy, healthy and successful lives, then we have obviously pre-determined our goals, desires and dreams and the Universe, in its infinite wisdom, is generally working with us with those concepts on board. And if things are taking too long, or heading in what you believe to be the wrong direction, our experiences can be frustrating, disappointing and challenging to say the least. HOWEVER, what if......
what if everything IS actually working in your favour but you just don't realise it! What if everything that you believe is falling apart is actually falling together perfectly just FOR you but in ways that you would never anticipate!
Let me give you a for instance.
Years ago, when we first moved on to a farm we had no concept or knowledge of how we could buy our own farm, but that didn't stop us looking. Our dream being having our own farm for our Wellness Sanctuary, Maggie's Farm so we did the next best thing and rented. Now this is where the irritating, frustrating and downright stressful part presents itself.
After about 18 months, the landlord decided that he wanted to sell and so long story short, we were given the 90 notice to vacate - with our 8 horses, 6 goats, 20 chickens, 5 dogs and 2 cats! Time grew closer and closer and still no place for us to move to, and still we continued looking and looking and looking!
Husband Phil was becoming more and more stressed to the point of losing sleep and as time drew near for us to move, my inner calm just got deeper and deeper. Not easy to explain as I should have been just as stressed and it really didn't make any sense but I just seemed to know that things were going to be just fine and in our favour.
So I gave in!
I gave in to the wisdom of the Universe and the design that I was hoping was under way, knowing that we are not being punished but prepared. In reality there was nothing else that I could do because every single avenue I looked into ended up being a dead end.
If ever you have heard this statement - 'Get out of your own way!' - well this is it! We humans tend to be controlling individuals (or try to be) that has very little trust in how situations can come together in absolute divine timing and design. And that is NOT WooWoo but a factor that occurs often.
So I had moved out of my own way without really realising it and trusted that all would come together just as it needed to . And it did. TWO weeks before we needed to move we were guided to not one but TWO rental acreages through a friend and the ultimate result was that we had the choice of both rentals farms on the one weekend.
Making our choice was easy and we have lived on this farm for nearly 4 years now, being educated in farm life and the requirements that we do and don't want and need.
An absolutely wonderful education and the next part of this journey is the purchase of our own farm.
Another more recent version of NOT GIVING IN revolves around one of our chickens Reeny. Reeny is one very determined and courageous young girl and is the survivor of not one but two Wedgetail Eagle attacks. She sustained an open slice under her wing and with 2.5 weeks of cage rest, daily application of whole honey and a good diet, she was soon able to rejoin her flock.
Very recently our Reeny became extremely ill with diarrhea and virtually no appetite. My hope for her getting through this was very low but NOT GIVING IN, I 'hit' her with everything I could imagine to save her life. Strong worming medicine, Coccidiosis medication (intestinal parasite), Vitamin C, Apple cider vinegar water, Hydrating fluids, syringing egg yolk, syringing watered down whole honey several times a day, Colloidal Silver, conducting Bowen Therapy and trying everything I could to entice her to eat! And then there was the conversation!
Understanding deeply that EVERY single living being makes choices in life and so the conversation with Reeny was me telling her just how much she was loved, how important she is in our chicken family but it was still her decision to stay or to go and I would honour her decision although I would be very sad if she decided to leave (this is my version of Giving up on human control and honouring her soul).
4 weeks into her chicken intensive hospital care, Reeny made a complete turn around and began her recovery. And the good news is that she is now completely recovered and has rejoined her flock - back to her cheeky and bossy self.
I just love that song - words may not be correct but they work for me - "When the going gets rough, the tough get going!"
Don't ever GIVE UP when you have the determination, patience and persistence to keep moving forward but do GIVE IN to knowing that all is as it is supposed to be - even if it isn't going in the way that you may have planned.
